Business in Photography
How would you market to grow your business?
I would market my photography business by posting my work on social media, creating a professional website, and asking happy clients to leave reviews and recommend me to others. Word-of-mouth and networking with local businesses would also help attract more customers.
What would you charge?
I would charge based on my expenses like equipment, editing time, travel, and marketing. I would make sure the price covers my costs and still allows me to make a profit. I would offer packages depending on the type of photo session.
What would you include in a contract?
In a contract I would include the date and location of the shoot, the price and payment details, what services are included, when the photos will be delivered, copyright rules for the photos, and cancellation policies. This protects both the photographer and the client.

R&W Ai in Photography

Artificial intelligence is becoming an important tool in photography because it helps photographers work faster and improve their images. Many cameras already use AI for features like facial recognition, subject detection, autofocus, and even fixing red-eye automatically. AI is also used in editing software to adjust exposure, reduce noise, sharpen images, remove backgrounds, or upscale low-resolution photos. These tools help photographers spend less time on technical editing and more time focusing on creativity and composition.

In a quiet backyard shaded by fruit trees, the morning air carried the warm scent of wood smoke. An older woman stood beside a simple metal stove, carefully tending the fire that crackled beneath a round griddle. One by one, she placed small circles of dough on the hot surface, her hands moving with the confidence of someone who had done this countless times before. The flames licked the edges of the wood, and the soft sizzle of cooking filled the peaceful garden.

For her, this wasn’t just about making food—it was about continuing a tradition. She had learned this way of cooking many years ago, standing beside her own mother and grandmother, watching closely as they shaped the dough and cooked it over open fire. Back then, the mornings were filled with laughter, stories, and the comforting rhythm of family life. Now, as she pressed each round gently with her fingertips, those memories seemed to return with the rising heat from the stove.

Around her, the garden sat quietly, chairs waiting for the family who would soon gather to eat. The simple meal she was preparing would bring everyone together, just like it always had. In moments like this, the past and present felt connected—through the smell of the firewood, the golden rounds cooking on the griddle, and the care she poured into every piece she made.

Cultural Identity

In the article is shows how the author defines and explains his idea of cultural photography. It shows a personal approach of photography that focuses on understanding cultural rather than trying to show by capturing people. He describes how the term grew out of his own struggle to explain his work, how it differs from documentary photography, and why he believes culture is more than a subject, it’s a lived experience that influences how photos are made and seen. In the article it also mentions interesting points about cultural identity.

Lot Of Food Sitting On A Table Background, Yummy Food Pictures, Food, Yummy Background Image And ...

These two images stood out to me because it shows the time and effort in just one shot.

Read and Write; 10 things I learned:

To start off I learned that plating your dish nicely helps make the image. Second, I learned that it should be bright and shiny but also have good lighting throughout the image. Third, was when taking pictures of your dish for a long period of time that you should replace some items to make it look fresh. Fourth, was if photographing meat to make sure the lines on the meat are nice and grilled straight. This helps make the image pop. Fifth, was a plate with to much going on can distract from the main dish in the image. Sixth, was natural daylight tends to be more flattering for the shot. Seventh, was when trying to shoot in the daylight make sure use hot lights to help balance the lighting. Eight, is use shallow depth of field. Ninth, is too focus on the details down to the texture on the image. Last, is to have fun and enjoy your work.

Read and Write- Which Lens would you chose:

What I have learned from this article so far is that focal range suits all backgrounds. I have also learned there is two different fields of view. Something that stood out to me is that Short Telephoto Ranges from 85mm to 135mm and are great for everyday use as they are compact and that Super Telephoto With focal lengths going beyond 300mm, this type of telephoto lens offers telescope-like magnification and are too heavy for handheld shooting. I’ve also learned that it can benefit from using a wide-angle lens due to the distortions that it creates.

Read and Write- Types of photography:

This article is about the different types of photography. This includes landscape photography, Abstract, Travel, etc. I’ve learned that it’s better to be a beginner starting photo because you really get to experience the different types of artwork for the first time. This is because you get the chance to experience but also feel and learn new skills. The type of photography that stood out to me the most is food photography this is because you can see the different textures and the colors of the food. You get to smell and examine the food just from a piece of artwork from the photo. I feel like that’s what’s really meaningful.

Simulator

The camera simulator was very beneficial in helping me remember how to use a camera. Balancing ISO, Shutter Speed, and aperture is something I’ve been doing for a while but it’s difficult to remember after dropping photography for a whole year. Coming back to photography, it can be difficult to adjust exposure without thinking too hard about it. Overall, the simulator was helpful but isn’t anything like using an actual camera in my opinion.

Read and Write Question and Answer

  1. Aperture is how wide the camera lens, shutter speed is how long the camera lens is the open, ISO is how much light enters the camera’s sensor
  2. You need to change ISO when entering or exiting outside or when overexposed or underexposed
  3. Aperture and shutter priority settings are a pre setting on the camera allowing you to pick your own aperture and shutter speed
  4. AF stands for auto focus meaning you lightly press the shutter release allowing the camera to focus
  5. You need to meter the light so your pictures can come out with your desired exposure
  6. A normal lens is around the human eye, telephoto is a lens that has a far zoom, and wide angle is the opposite opening wide capturing larger closer pictures
  7. White balance determines the warmth of the white captured in the image
  8. A shallow depth of field blurs the background while a good depth of field will capture the entire image
  9. Drive modes are settings on the camera prioritizing different settings
  10. Exposure compensation is moving shutter speed, aperture, and ISO to get your desired exposure
